Top 10 chick-flicks!

I have read all kind of lists all over the internet and books about which are the best chick flicks. Chick flicks are usually feel good or they teach you something as a girl/woman. They are nice to watch with your best girl friends over chocolates and ice cream, whether you are feeling sad or happy they will always leave you happy in the end. Pictures courtesy of google.com
Here are my favourite chick-clicks:
1. Legally Blonde, what blonde doesn't want to go to law school after watching this film? Legally Blonde is the story of Elle Woods a dumb blonde who gets to prove herself at Harvard Law School. You can watch this one over and over, I know I have and laugh so much while also taking the move seriously.

2. Love Actually, this is a film that everyone should watch before christmas it tells love stories between all kinds of random people who are connected in some way. It is so cute, dramatic, funny and loveable all at the same time.

3. Amélie, perhaps one of the best french films made about love. It tells the story of a quirky young parisienne who discovers love while helping others. Beautiful cinematography and an original story line. Beautiful music by Yann Tiersen must be mentioned as well.

4. Notting Hill, the brits have showed us over and over that they are simply brilliant at making films this Hugh Grant, Julia Roberts love comedy is all very british but the love is very international, most people can connect with this love me/hate me storyline.

5. Breakfast at Tiffany's, as I have called it before, The film to watch on rainy days, the story of call girl Holly Golightly and her 1960's New York world and loves. Must see romantic classic!

6. Mean Girls, the best movie made about teenage girl drama, every girl who has ever been in high school can connect with this movie. Tina Fey one of the best female screen writers creates a funny story that leaves a lot behind when you are finished watching it. Lindsay Lohan (before drugs) and Rachel McAdams in a sneaky cat fight with Amanda Seyfried great as the dumb blonde.

7. Clueless, the 1990's high school chick flick a modern version of Jane Austen's Emma, incredibly clueless and fun storyline. Featuring young prominent actors, Alicia Silverstone, Paul Rudd, the late Brittany Murphy and many more Hollywood celebrities.

8. Bridget Jones's Diary, based on the novel, the story of an imperfect heroine and her dealing with two men in her life, her career, her urbane family and her real one. Simply funny, adorable Renee Zellweger who I wish had more roles like this one. Hugh Grant and Colin Firth charm the audience as well rivaling over her love. Number 2 isn't that great but really funny.

9. The Devil wears Prada, although I didn't like this movie especially when I first saw it at 13 years old, now I love it, it really explains why people can be difficult and how hard and complicated the fashion world really is. With Meryl Streep as the ice cold boss and Anne Hathaway as the new assistant this tale is not a fail free one.

10. Mona Lisa Smile, beautiful movie, with bright young Hollywood stars about education in a man's world. Julia Roberts is a very inspiring teacher.

These are only 10 great chick flicks here are some that I didn't include for various reasons but are still very much worth seeing:
500 days of Summer, not really a chick flick but great romantic movie,The virgin suicides (reading now, fascinating and original), Sleepless in Seattle, An Education (amazing but not really a chick flick per se), 10 things I hate about you (Shakespeare spin off teen drama, featuring the prominent young Hollywood), Steel Magnolias, Pretty Woman and When Harry met Sally.

Go watch a chick flick it makes life more happy!
